In honor of his latest album release, rapper Lecrae has partnered with The Bible App to share his thoughts on Restoration.
In a 14-day devotional plan, Lecrae offers personal reflection on Restoration for insights on developing deeper intimacy with God in the midst of pain and brokenness.
“God is not surprised by our trials and our pains. We live in a broken world, marred by sin,” Lecrae shares on day one of the plan. “But in the midst of the pain, God does not abandon us. In fact, He uses that pain to develop perseverance and make us mature believers.”
Acknowledging that pain and suffering are essential ingredients to growth and maturity in the faith of believers, Lecrae warns against boiling Christianity down to an existence of suffering. Our faith shouldn’t be interpreted through the lens of the struggles that we go through. Instead, the struggles that we go through should be seen through the lens of faith. “When we experience hardship, and see the brokenness of our world’s systems, we are encouraged to consider it joy,” says Lecrae. “As citizens of God’s kingdom, these things should serve as reminders our hope is beyond fulfillment in this world – our hope is in Christ!”
He goes on to highlight 2 Corinthians 1:3-8 and James 1:2-4.
Each day in the devotional is based on a song from Lecrae’s Restoration album and includes a snippet of both the lyrics and the track. Scripture passages are highlighted and simple prayers included to guide readers towards a better understanding of what it means to be restored.
