iNTELLECT, an emcee and producer from Toledo, Ohio, recently released a new single that directly addresses headlines we’re seeing today. Never one to shy away from topics of injustice and how Scripture guides us as believers to respond and act, “Help Us” aims to seek God’s perspective on current racial tension.
Produced by The Illustrated One, “Help Us” is the first single from iNTELLECT since he dropped his album Polished Arrows in May of this year. The single is available across digital retailers now.
Making music with the Message has always been a passion for iNTELLECT. While admitting his love for hip hop beats and lyrics, iNTELLECT knows that if the music is not God-inspired, then it’s powerless. Regarding the inspiration behind his new track, iNTELLECT said, “the recent racial tension has impacted all of us in some way. This song is a way for me to sort things out by seeking God’s perspective.”
Through his gift of rap, iNTELLECT has been spreading the message of salvation through faith in Jesus the Christ all over the Midwest. “Being that I grew up in a home with a Christian mother and an alcoholic father, my mother has been one of the most influential persons in my life,” the artist has shared in past interviews. “I watched how she constantly prayed for my father (who eventually came to salvation before his death) and I became a firsthand witness on how faith and prayer can change the direst of situations. I watched how she studied the Word of God and how she passionately lived the Christian life while I was growing up. Even though at times I had strayed away from the path, she always told me that God had a plan for my life. Her influence has helped me see the importance of not only living a life of integrity but also to present myself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth (2 Tim. 2:15).”
“Help Us” adheres to iNTELLECT’s classic, boom-bap style, delivering a powerful message with consistent delivery and vivid imagery.
