Block Party Starts Now: Reach Records Official Annual Summer Playlist is Here!

by Danita White

Reach Records kicked off its annual Summer playlist last week by dropping a single, “Let Me Know”, from Andy Mineo and featuring Marc E. Bassy. This marks the first collaboration between the two.

The uptempo summer bop talks about Mineo’s dedication to his wife. He pleads for her to “let him know” of any problems or places she needs help. Mineo sings:

I ain’t no mind reader got no crystal ball, yeah
I can tell you mad I think that it’s my fault
How it’s only 8 A.M. and you big mad
You right next to me but I can feel the distance, yeah
Talk to me, you can trust me with your fear
I said talk to me, whatever you show me I’m here for it
I know you scared to make me the one you vent to
‘Cause I know you want a man not just a boy with some potential
So just let me know

Releasing a new single every day until Friday, “Stick” with Rockstar Jt, Duke Deuce, Scootie Wop, and MainMain was released next. This track talks about merging the trap and the church. According to Genius, “while ‘stick’ is normally used as a slang term for a big gun, originating in South Florida, Rockstar JT uses it as a baton, passing to his fellow rappers”.

“Come My Way” with Wande, Teni, and Toye dropped Wednesday. Featuring Afrobeats, the artists sing about hope, blessings, and contentment. Producer Lasanna Ace Harris wrote on Twitter:

One of my favorite songs I’ve ever produced. Afro Beats + Faith. My pocket. Wande just dropped a LEGIT Afro beat record featuring one of the biggest names in the genre @TeniEntertainer & rising star @ToyeOfficial . “I’m Up” from Aklesso, nobigdyl., and Jon Keith was released Thursday. In a post on Instagram, nobigdyl. shared how he was emotionally exhausted with 2020 while working on the song. “I told Kless I didn’t wanna put it out cuz I couldn’t connect with how positive the song was in the current climate,” nobigdyl. wrote, “he said that’s exactly why we gotta put it out. for the good of the people. the people need joy.”

And then on Friday, the full playlist was revealed.

The playlist is streaming now on: Apple Music | Spotify | YouTube | Audiomack | Tidal | Amazon Music

So, pull on up to the block party and get jammin’ with the dope beats from the Summer Twenty playlist.
