Two-time GRAMMY Award winner and multi-platinum Christian recording artist Lauren Daigle was recently a special guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show. It was Daigle’s first remote network television interview in which she gave an exclusive performance of her song “Rescue”.
It can be said that Clarkson is a fan of Daigle’s musical talent. In May of this year, Clarkson performed Daigle’s GRAMMY Award winning and triple-platinum selling hit single “You Say” as part of a tribute to first responders. It “was not only an honor to hear Kelly interpret the song, but was also inspiring on several levels,” Daigle said about Clarkson’s performance.
“Rescue” is the second single from Daigle’s GRAMMY Award winning album and platinum selling album, Look Up Child. Daigle has shared that “Rescue” is the most personal song from the album and was written to comfort a close friend in their time of need and to give them hope.
“I remember writing it in mind of a loved one and the thing about is, you write a song and it’s almost like the song writes you before you write it,” Daigle shared with Clarkson during their interview. “Especially for times right now. That song couldn’t have been more real and more potent, for such a time as this.”
